# Checkout fees

> Platform fees, network costs, and who pays at checkout.

Before a customer confirms payment, hosted checkout on `pay.meum.io` shows a **live quote** with:

* Order total (USD)
* **Platform fee** — percentage on successful payment, based on your plan
* **Network cost** — depends on token and network the customer selects

There are no hidden fees after pay-in.

## Platform fee payer

Set the default per store in **Dashboard → Stores → \[Store] → Settings → Checkout**:

| Mode              | Customer sees                 | Settlement                                                  |
| ----------------- | ----------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Merchant pays** | Listed order amount only      | Platform fee deducted from settlement                       |
| **Customer pays** | Order + platform fee in total | Customer pays listed amount; fee included in checkout total |

  **Free plan:** platform fee is paid by the merchant only. **Growth and Business** can pass the platform fee to the customer.

## Network fees

Blockchain routing costs vary by origin token and network. Meum surfaces them in the quote before the customer confirms — not as a surprise after payment.
